The woodpeckers have been coming every year for as long as I can remember. They initially come in to gather food. They take peanuts from the feeder across to a crevice in the tree and prepare it for the chicks. They then fly off and feed the chicks. Eventually they come in with the chicks to show them how to get food. The chicks copy them to the letter. The adults soon leave the chicks to fend for themselves and the chicks come in on a regular bases. The adults visit less frequently and then disappear until the spring. The video was runner up in the Scottish Nature Video Awards 2023
